Tomorrow – Tuesday the 24th May at 9 a.m., MEP Win van de Camp presents to the Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee (IMCO) in Europe his daft legislative report concerning the European Commission’s (EC) proposals for the approval and market surveillance of two- or three-wheel vehicles and quadricycles.
Motorcyclists have been saying all along that the proposals and subsequent IMCO report are daft, finally it seems that the IMCO agrees with us:
In fact, in their newsletter, the following comment was made:
“On 24 May, members will consider a daft legislative report on the approval and market surveillance of mopeds and motorcycles and on-road quads and mini-cars. The main objectives of the proposed regulation are: simplify the legal framework, reduce the level of emissions and increase safety. “
Is this the biggest Freudian slip of all time?
Could be, even so, it had us rolling around the floor laughing!
The newsletter continues, without further slip ups, that the meeting proposes to, “clarify the scope of the regulation by introducing new subcategories for special vehicles, to rationalise the implementation timing for safety and environmental rules, and ensure information for independent repairers.”
